Sungarden Terrace Retirement Assisted Living and Dementia Care Community in warm and sunny Lemon Grove is conveniently located just south of downtown San Diego. Nutrition
Dining at Sungarden Terrace is truly an enjoyable experience. Our Dining Room is attractive and inviting. The food served provides a tasty variety from meal to meal and is always attractively served.
Our residents are served three meals per day, seven days a week. We also offer specialized meals for those with diabetic needs. We can provide regular, no added salt, limited concentrated sweets, no added fats and mechanically altered diets based on resident's needs and physician orders. Room service meal delivery and visitor meals are also available for a nominal fee.

Recreation
Sungarden Terrace offers a wide variety of group and individual activities that meet the needs and interests of our residents. We have two full-time Activity Ambassadors who oversee and encourage everyone to participate. (Click here to view our Event Calendar).
As indicated within our Event Calendar, we provide a daily menu of Fitness and Wellness activities totally with our resident’s interest in mind. We regularly schedule Guest Speakers to enlighten and educate for the benefit of our guests and families alike and everyone is welcome.

Resident Care
We are staffed and are ready to help 24-hours per day, 7 days per week. Our full-time staff has been thoroughly trained, screened and are eager to serve. Our Caregivers are trained to respond to each guest’s needs. We are able to monitor, manage and distribute all medications, including the special needs of Diabetics. Our Licensed Nurses provide the flexibility and quality care necessary to assure our trademark which is “Resident Centered Careâ€.
At Sungarden Terrace our guests and their loved ones can have that piece of mind which is so necessary, knowing that each and every need is being attended to yet respecting the guest’s individual desires and independence.

Transportation
Our Transportation Service permits our guests to go Shopping, Banking and to Medical Appointments. Our guests travel in dignity and luxury in our Cadillac Sedan, this is not a van or bus. The Transportation is a complimentary service, which includes all of La Mesa and Lemon Grove areas.
Should special trips or excursions outside this area or timetable be desired, just contact our reception desk and we will be happy to arrange service for a small fee.

Housekeeping
This is an extremely important item for each guest as well as for ourselves and is not taken lightly. Each and every room is thoroughly deep cleaned each week. A daily light cleaning and straightening is accomplished for each guest. For those who have other special requirements we of course can arrange for special attention and service.

Laundry and Linen
Sungarden Terrace’s goal to provide each guest a “Maintenance Free Life Style†which includes fresh clean towels twice per week and bed linens that are changed weekly. We provide all towels and linens.
The personal laundry is also included in our package of services and is provided weekly. We can also provide ironing and dry cleaning services. These and other special cleaning services are available for an additional fee. For questions contact the reception desk.

Hair Salon
Our hair salon is a full service salon with a fully licensed Hair Specialist. The Salon performs a complete menu of services, from simple Shampoo and Sets to complete Perm’s. In addition to this full service for our Lady Guests we also offer comparable services for the Men.

Massage Services
Let our licensed Massage Therapist soothe away your aches with a relaxing massage. Just stop by our reception desk to schedule an appointment. Rates are very reasonable.

Respite Care
This service offered by Sungarden Terrace is a wonderful way for potential full time guests to experience our “Resident Centered Care†on a short-term basis and can provide a welcome opportunity for the family to have a break from the rigors of Care Giving. Please call our Guest Relations Department for space availability.
After all, we all need a little rest from time to time.

Diabetic Care
Sungarden Terrace offers a full range of help and assistance for those affected with Diabetes. Under the Diabetic Care Services Plan, we will monitor glucose, inject insulin, and administer medications as ordered by your Physician. We have a fully qualified and licensed staff to assist our guests in the monitoring of all medicines.
Our menu from our Food Service Department offers caloric monitoring and has specialized meals to meet all requirements and is supervised by a Registered Dietician. When it comes to Diabetic Care, we make it easy.

Licensed Vocational Nurses
While it is not a Licensing requirement, Sungarden Terrace has elected to utilize LVN’s (Licensed Vocational Nurses) to enhance the quality of life and care giving for our guests.
Sungarden’s utilization of LVN’s in the management of medications enhances our ability to spot problems that frequently occur when unlicensed staff are solely responsible for handling medications. Our LVN's also provide invaluable assistance in the supervision of our guests, as well as providing special help to those with diabetes and other unique problems or diseases.
