Many seniors begin to have difficulty taking complete care of themselves, or have family that can no longer provide the full care and support they need, or simply want a respite from the labors of day-to-day maintenance. Some need help recovering from surgery or hospitalization; others still may have developed physical or cognitive limitations that are found to be prohibitive to living alone. Finding agreeable, convenient and affordable solutions to these challenges can be a tall order.

Private care solutions can not only become an exorbitant expense, but they can also limit the availability of an attentive caregiver. Skilled nursing facilities are similarly uneconomical for those who don’t require invasive care, and especially for those who don’t qualify for public financial support programs such as Medi-Cal. Many retirement communities offer what’s known as “Independent Living,” but this falls well short of what many seniors need. Assisted living communities provide medication management, healthy meal service, physical rehabilitation, and help with other daily tasks.
