This is a simple promise that the staff at Emeritus at Corona – and throughout Emeritus Senior Living communities – has shared since our community first opened its doors. It’s a simple promise to be compassionate and kind, understanding and respectful – a promise to become extended family to the seniors entrusted in our care.
Ideal Location
Set on beautifully landscaped grounds with a courtyard, lovely gardens and walking trails, Emeritus at Corona is located close to SR-91 and I-15 in a residential area 45 miles southeast of Los Angeles in western Riverside County and the Inland Empire. Our community is near Santana Regional Park, Citrus Community Park, Corona City Park, Citibank, Wells Fargo, Corona Discount Mall, Gateway Town Center, Galleria at Tyler Mall and close to several medical facilities, including Corona Regional Medical Center Rehabilitation Hospital, Charter Hospital Corona, Kap Medical and a nursing home rehabilitation facility if ever needed.
An innovative approach to caring for residents with memory loss
Over the past decade our community has become well known in the area for our innovative approach to caring for seniors with Alzheimer’s or Dementia – an approach we call “Join Their Journey.†The premise of Join Their Journey, which is based on research conducted on seniors with Alzheimer’s Disease, is simple: We believe that seniors affected by memory disorders still have so much to contribute to life. So our goal is to create a nurturing environment and provide ongoing opportunities every day that allow them to live purposeful, successful lives despite their disease.
Toward this end, we create specially designed memory care neighborhoods that provide a personalized, familiar and secure setting tailored to each resident’s unique needs. Within this environment, our highly trained staff joins residents in their moment, rather than trying to bring them into our reality. Through this approach, we recognize individuality, encourage choices and help residents maintain their dignity. We also work diligently to get to know each resident and his or her family, so that we can offer the right support for every stage of the disease process.
Join Their Journey offers these unique components:
•We gather a detailed life story from you, helping us get to know your loved one when they can no longer share their own stories themselves.
•We offer recreational and social programs based on your loved one’s personal preferences and abilities.
•Each month, we keep you informed of your loved one’s moments of success and purposefulness by sharing stories – “Moments in Time†– about his or her life and accomplishments here at our community. A description of an activity or outing he or she enjoyed, how he or she helped others or made new friends are just a few examples of Moments in Time.
•We offer you – the family – educational programs to help you better understand what your loved one is going through and how you can best support his or her needs.
•Through our family-to-family connections, we offer the opportunity for you to share and learn from other families experiencing similar situations through Alzheimer’s and Dementia support groups, family gatherings and meetings.
•We individualize our Alzheimer’s and Dementia Service and Care Plan to help with reminders, redirection, medication, bathing and other specific needs.
Ask about our Senior Day Care
Your loved one may simply need assistance during the day. In this case, be sure to ask us about our specialized Senior Day Care program, which offers health services tailored to your loved ones special needs. He or she will also benefit from the same activities program we make available to all of our residents, including exercise classes and outings on the bus. Breakfast, lunch and snacks are provided.
As we get older, many of us naturally need a helping hand – perhaps someone to help us get ready for the day, help manage our medications or prepare special meals to fit our unique dietary needs. Sometimes that extra help is all we need to continue living safely on our own.
Our staff is here to offer a helping hand, but only when and if you need it. When you join our senior living community, we’ll take the time to carefully assess your needs before recommending specific assisted living services. In fact, we use a state-of-the-art computerized assessment system (called the Vigilan Resident Evaluation Program), which helps us accurately evaluate, predict and monitor all personal care services for each of our residents.
Sometimes our residents may require a little extra attention or assistance due to Alzheimer's, Dementia or Memory Loss. Emeritus memory care offers a unique and innovative program called Join Their Journey®.
In addition, our Director of Resident Care will visit with you on a regular basis to personally discuss health-related issues and to monitor your progress. We also work with your personal healthcare professionals to arrange on-site visits and rehabilitative therapies as needed.
Depending upon your situation and health concerns, services could include:*
•Daily assistance with bathing and dressing
•Medication management
•Dining assistance and special diets
•Assistance with reminders and redirection
•Escorts and assistance with walking
•Diabetic management
•Physical therapy
•Speech therapy
•Occupational therapy
•Respite care and short term stays
