Set on beautifully landscaped grounds with a courtyard, lovely gardens and walking trails, Emeritus at Casa Whittier is considered one of the Greater Los Angeles area’s premier senior living communities. Located off of Whittier Boulevard between Beach and First, our community offers 63 apartments on two floors. Here our residents – in many cases, with their pets – enjoy retirement living with a small, bed-and-breakfast atmosphere. Yet should you need a helping hand from our warm and caring staff, we also offer a complete high level of assisted living services, tailor-made to your needs. We’ve designed our services to focus on wellness, helping you maintain or improve your health, so you can live as independently as possible.

Our common areas, including our lovely dining room, TV room, activities center and library, give residents and their loved ones the opportunity to get to know one another. We also offer a wide range of activities each month, including outings to many museums in the surrounding area. Emeritus at Casa Whittier is conveniently located in a residential area in the heart of historical Whittier. We are surrounded by shopping malls, local dining and museums. Emeritus at Casa Whittier is near Whittier Hospital Medical Center and a nursing home rehabilitation facility if ever needed.
As we get older, many of us naturally need a helping hand – perhaps someone to help us get ready for the day, help manage our medications or prepare special meals to fit our unique dietary needs. Sometimes that extra help is all we need to continue living safely on our own.
Our staff is here to offer a helping hand, but only when and if you need it. When you join our senior living community, we’ll take the time to carefully assess your needs before recommending specific assisted living services. In fact, we use a state-of-the-art computerized assessment system (called the Vigilan Resident Evaluation Program), which helps us accurately evaluate, predict and monitor all personal care services for each of our residents.
Sometimes our residents may require a little extra attention or assistance due to Alzheimer's, Dementia or Memory Loss. Emeritus memory care offers a unique and innovative program called Join Their Journey®.
In addition, our Director of Resident Care will visit with you on a regular basis to personally discuss health-related issues and to monitor your progress. We also work with your personal healthcare professionals to arrange on-site visits and rehabilitative therapies as needed.
