Here our residents – in many cases, with their pets – enjoy retirement living in 117 spacious apartments featuring a galley-style kitchen with dining area and fully appointed living rooms. Join Their Journey – Alzheimer's and Dementia Care
Our community also offers an innovative memory care program, Join Their Journey®, for seniors affected by Alzheimer’s or dementia. Because your family’s experience will be unlike any other, our goal is to get to know you and your loved one, so that we can offer support and solutions for your individual situation. We “join the journey” of your loved one by recognizing individuality, encouraging choices and allowing residents the dignity to live in a secure, personalized and familiar setting that feels comfortable for them.

With its family-friendly atmosphere, Emeritus at Brookhurst feels like home the minute you walk through the doors. Our common areas – including our lovely dining room, library and TV room – give residents and their loved ones the opportunity to get to know one another. We also offer a wide range of activities each month, including several clubs and community outings to Marina of Pacific, San Juan Capistrano Mission, the aquarium and area beaches.

Emeritus at Brookhurst is conveniently located in a residential area near Macy's, JC Penny's, Target, CVS Drug store and offers the convenience of local banking with Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Washington Mutual and Bank of the West. We are also close to Huntington Beach, Newport Beach and Mile Square Park. Several medical facilities are also near by, including Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center, Hoag Hospital, Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and a nursing home rehabilitation facility if ever needed.

As we get older, many of us naturally need a helping hand – perhaps someone to help us get ready for the day, help manage our medications or prepare special meals to fit our unique dietary needs. Sometimes that extra help is all we need to continue living safely on our own.

Our staff is here to offer a helping hand, but only when and if you need it. When you join our senior living community, we’ll take the time to carefully assess your needs before recommending specific assisted living services. In fact, we use a state-of-the-art computerized assessment system (called the Vigilan Resident Evaluation Program), which helps us accurately evaluate, predict and monitor all personal care services for each of our residents.

Sometimes our residents may require a little extra attention or assistance due to Alzheimer's, Dementia or Memory Loss. Emeritus memory care offers a unique and innovative program called Join Their Journey®.

In addition, our Director of Resident Care will visit with you on a regular basis to personally discuss health-related issues and to monitor your progress. We also work with your personal healthcare professionals to arrange on-site visits and rehabilitative therapies as needed.
